Many of these sets were put into other types of holders and the original packaging was thrown away. Having a set in the original packaging is a nice plus as far less of them exist today. This set also has the unique corrugated cardboard insets that were placed in the envelop to protect the coins. The 1955 sets have a low Mintage of 378,200 for both the box and flat pack sets combined.
It is very hard to get nice pictures of these sets because the packaging causes reflections. A slight crease or wrinkle and even the smallest of marks on the packaging can cause bad pictures. These coins are very nice with a nice strike, nice luster, and reflective proof surfaces giving all the coin very nice eye appeal. It's very common for the cent to develop spotting or toning over time. The cent in this set is still very nice.It still has a nice red color tone. I consider this set to be of better quality when compared to others I see for sale. NOTE: If you're looking for other sets, please check my other listings because I have many other dates for Proof Set listed. Nothing bad to say about this set.
